H2O was started by Neil Dana, an experienced fabricator of custom hunting rigs and truck equipment. He was very intrigued by the HMMWV and with the H2 coming to the market he really wanted to offer his expertise to the up and coming Hummer crowd. Neil purchased his own H2 with the intent to build custom equipment for individual customers’ needs. Neil worked in his garage in the evenings and on the weekends attempting to build a custom accessories business while maintaining a full time job. After realizing the H2 market needed a complete product line of heavy duty equipment, he knew he needed to get into a well equipped shop in order to design and develop this product line. He was able to form an alliance with an established steel fabricator to obtain the needed processing equipment and started collaborating with an engineering colleague on new product designs. (The colleague actually worked on a project to outfit an HMMWV with test instrumentation for qualifying the M109 155mm Howitzer in the late 80’s.) After months of design and development and more re-design and development, the H2O H2 product line was finally complete. With the knowledge gained from the H2 development, the foundation was laid to continue developing the finest equipment for all the Hummer lines to come.

Why H2O
H2O strives to utilize the most suitable hardware and components, to design to a new standard of functionality and versatility, and to build a unique look and feel that is dedicated to the Hummer brand. H2O uses a Water Jet and Plasma cutting table to ensure accuracy, increase productivity and cost effectiveness. H2O utilizes a Press Brake in the fabrication process to produce as many radius joints as possible. This reduces welding and grinding time, increases strength and provides a much cleaner look. In addition to cutting and bending, which is becoming a common method of manufacturing for off-road equipment, H2O has taken the manufacturing process one step further by stamping many of their parts. Stamping the material increases the strength and produces a truly unique style and look. The completed equipment is sandblasted, acid phosphate washed, zinc rich primed, and powder coated. By utilizing these methods of manufacturing H2O is able to provide you with the most functional and durable equipment that will give you years of trouble free service.
